Astro KC CMS Cloudflare Pages Cloudflare DNS Google Analytics 4 Static Output

BeSciWorks is a small research and design consultancy in Arnprior. It applies behavioural insights to employment systems in Ontario: the people who use them, the services that deliver them and the employers on the other side. Its principals needed a site that could carry papers and evidence summaries, not a brochure.

The owners had drawn up prototypes of the home page and the Pathways Connect page themselves. They had a conference on October 27 and wanted the site live before it. The old site was a one-page GoDaddy Website Builder template on a domain they intended to keep.

They also wanted to run it themselves: upload a paper, change a line, add a weekly update, with no developer in the loop for any of it.

We built from their prototypes and kept their structure: home, what they do, their approach, research and evidence, Pathways Connect, about and contact. The look was reworked so it reads as a research organization and not as a template, with a serif for headings, a deep green and a single red accent.

The site is Astro, published as static pages on Cloudflare Pages. Content lives in structured files that the KC CMS edits through a login: pages, papers, insights and weekly updates each have their own form. A short guide walks the owners through it.

Analytics stay off until a visitor says yes. A small banner asks once, and Google Analytics 4 loads only after a yes. The privacy and terms pages are written for what the site actually does.

The domain moved from GoDaddy to Cloudflare DNS. Every existing record was copied across and checked first, mail included, so email on the domain never stopped.

Live at besciworks.com on October 27, 2026, the day of the conference, with HTTPS on the apex domain and www redirecting to it. Thirteen pages are in the sitemap, open to search engines.

The owners sign in to the KC CMS and publish papers and updates themselves. They own their content and the domain. The project closed on November 2, 2026, with thirty days of support from launch.
